We have reached championship week. If you have made it this far, congratulations: A league title and hopefully a nice chunk of change could both be within your sights.
More importantly, if you survived the Alvin Kamara Christmas Day massacre, consider yourself lucky — and this article could likely still be of some service to you. More likely than not, you do not need much help as your lineup is strong, but your defense (DST), kicker (K), and/or FLEX positions may need an additional boost. This is what we aim to accomplish today.
First, lets take a look at some kicker options. If you have Harrison Butker, Will Lutz, or Justin Tucker, do not over think it and play them; they all have strong match-ups. If you read this article last week and picked up Mason Crosby, he also has a nice match-up against Tennessee this week.
If you have been streaming kickers, here are a two that should be available in your league that could help you win.
Ryan Succop (TB): The Buccaneers are a massive -9.5 point favorite in Detroit in a game with a sizzling 54 point total. Succop will have the benefit of playing indoors at Ford Field. There is a lot to like about Succop this week.
Cairo Santos (CHI): Santos has been hot lately and the Bears offense is coming off of three straight 30-point games. They are big favorites against a soft Jacksonville defense.
Now, for defenses: If you have the Ravens, start them. They have a great match-up this week against the Giants. After that, this is a great week to stream. Here are two of my favorite options that might still be floating around.
Cleveland (CLE): The Browns are coming off of a Sunday Night football complete shutdown of the Giants. They now get to face the Jets. They should be treated as a top-5 defense this week.
Arizona (ARI): Arizona has a divisional game against San Francisco; the 49ers offense is reeling. Dallas was the number one scoring defense in football last week, and the Cardinals could have similar success.
Lastly, onto the nitty gritty, and players that can help you win Week 16.
Note: It should go without say, if players like Jalen Hurts are still floating around, somehow, they are no-brainer adds for a final championship push.
Salvon Ahmed RB Miami: Ahmed returned from injury and saw a bell-cow-like 23 carries, and produced with 122 yards and a TD. Treat him as a RB2 this week.
Jeff Wilson RB San Francisco: We strongly recommended Wilson last week, and despite splitting the work, he was able to find the end zone and rush for 60 yards. Raheem Mostert is now banged up; Wilson could be a useful FLEX-play this week.
Ito Smith RB Atlanta: Smith was named the starter by head coach Raheem Morris, with Todd Gurley taking a backseat. You would have to be desperate to use him, but he should see the most snaps of any Atlanta back.
Rashard Higgins WR Cleveland: We recommended Higgins as an add last week with this week in mind. Hollywood Higgins has a juicy match-up against the Jets on deck; Baker Mayfield is playing well, and the Jets will have difficulty stopping the Browns offense. Higgins has a chance at a TD this week and should see 7 or so targets. He can be treated as a WR3 or FLEX.
We hope that Waiver Grabs and The Dumpster Dive helped you win some games this season. Best of luck in Week 16!
