Dumpster Diving: Last-Minute Adds, Week 11

by | Nov 22, 2020

Thanksgiving Day is just around the corner. You can almost smell the turkey, and anticipate a day on the couch watching a triple-header of NFL ball. A tradition unlike any other.

But before we feast next week, we need to eat some W’s during Week 11. We have only three weeks left in most leagues before the playoffs start. Lots of players are hurt. Lots of players are on byes. But November is not a time for excuses, it is a time for wins.

Last week, we had another strong Dumpster Dive performance:

Josh Reynolds posted a big-time performance with 8 catches for 94 yards as the Rams defeated the Seahawks.

Jakeem Grant had 4 catches for 43 yards and 1 score. For Week 11, we aim to uncover a few more players who are lightly-owned, but can produce for teams in need.

As always, our threshold is players rostered in less than 10% of Yahoo! leagues.

Alex Smith QB Washington (9%)

Smith even being on a football field is miraculous in itself, but his strong play cannot be overlooked.

For back-to-back weeks, Smith has passed for over 300 yards, including a 390 yard performance last week against Detroit. Smith has been very accurate and efficient and remains a high-floor play in what should be a plus match-up against Cincinnati.

For example, I have one Josh Allen team that will be starting Smith this week. Let’s ride.

Kyle Rudolph TE Minnesota (7%)

Irv Smith could miss once again. Last week, with Smith out, Rudolph had 4 catches for 63 yards. This week, against Dallas, Rudolph could provide a usable TE start.

Rudolph should be a high-end TE2 or low-end TE1 this week. As we know, TE is a mess this season, but Rudolph could help teams get through this week.

Update: [Irv] Smith is officially questionable. Look to pivot to another option if both TE’s are in play.

K.J. Hamler WR Denver (5%)

K.J. Hamler is quietly becoming a thing in Denver, and we’ll keep pounding the table for him on both Waiver Grabs and Dumpster Diving alike. He deserves our attention.

Hamler has seen 10 targets for two weeks in a row; expect to see him with a high target total once again.

Breshad Perriman WR NY Jets (10%)

The last time we saw a Joe Flacco-led Jets offense, he connected with Perriman for 5 catches and 101 yards with 2 touchdowns. Coming off the bye, look for Flacco to take some deep shots to Perriman once again. He could break loose for another score.

Best of luck in Week 11!

Important programming note: The Dumpster Dive will drop on Wednesday 11/25 next week, given the all-important Turkey Day slate.
